Dear Mr. Heath:
May I use this strange metaphor to express the enthusiasm I experienced when at last in the quiet sanctuary of my bedroom, I opened the pages of Citadel, Market and Altar”?
I was as a carefree little girl skipping and dancing in ecstatic happiness, as I entered into the beautiful Garden of your Thoughts. I found so much beauty and compatibility in the words I saw, that they were as gaily colored blossoms, and I could not wait to linger long on one page before seeking the next. There were pools in the Garden of your Thoughts where I lingered and saw reflected back to me my Self, that Self of one which like yours is a part of the Perfect Whole. But as yet I cannot bring it to the perfect beauty you have accomplished.
Such phrases as “Comprehension comes always as illumination of the mind, a light that beams also in the countenance and in the eyes.” “Its (life’s) real business is to flow forward in forms transcending all its past.” Literally hundreds of these perfect blossoms of your mind, I gathered into that cherished bouquet as that gay little girl skipping and dancing through that garden.
Then I remembered I would always share it with you /in/ the gift I received yesterday as we experienced companionship under the summer sky at the hospital where my dearest husband lies in ____ pitiful state that I want to think can only be a privileged experience of Life for me. I want to give back to Life in this capacity, and learn more of love and patience and selflessness.
With much gratitude,
I am Always sincerely,
(Signed) Moselle A. Anderson
