Penned remarks on notepad paper inserted in Hans Reichenbach, Atom & Cosmos. There ae some seemingly independent calculations on these pages not transcribed. On the back of one page is a penciled fragment of a letter to F.A. (“Baldy”) Harper, which is reproduced at the end of this item.

Begin with one absolute — least — mass unit per enough
motion units to make 1/h work units.
Let the number of time units be one second for both velocity and repetition.
If the number of motion units per any time unit is known it is then known for all time units because the total motion (length) is both divided by the time units to get velocity and the velocity is then multiplied by the total time units to get again the total motion (length). Thus velocity is independent of the time unit employed. Work is force times motion (distance). Velocity is the inverse of frequency — number of motions per time unit. And the length of each motion and its duration will be inverse to frequency.
So —- in the quantum unit of least action — composed of least mass units — absolute units — when there is but one absolute (least) mass unit then the frequency of the motion units — the velocity — must be maximum and absolute. Conversely, when frequency of motion units (velocity) is maximum, then the single mass unit must be least and absolute.
So —- if velocity of light C is maximum and absolute whatever the motion unit may be, then the mass unit (single) must be least in terms of the same system of units in order that the total work units comprising the event shall not exceed h erg seconds taken in terms of that same system.
Thus, taken in absolute motion units, when velocity (frequency) is 1/h then the number of absolute mass units per quantum is one and the number of absolute time units is one. The quantum magnitude is in the frequency of its waves. The higher their frequency the shorter they are in both length and time — ranging all the way from one absolute mass or force unit acting through the greatest number of motion units 1/h (in terms of absolute units) during (or per) one absolute unit of time to the converse composition consisting of the greatest number of mass or force units acting through a single absolute unit of time.

Dear Baldy,
I truly wish I could name to you several persons who know something about free enterprise and methods of teaching some understanding of it. But if I should attempt it, I think your name would have to head the list. There are few enough who even understand it, and of those who are they who understand its basic rationale well enough to paint a picture of the future glory for mankind that is wrapped up in its present so little ______ potentials. Where is that vision? John Chamberlain’s Roots of Capitalism is a fine review of the emergence of free enterprise, out from under a gloom of despairing theorizing at the hands of men who themselves had little, if any understanding of its spiritual implications — all _____ _____. And today nearly all of our . .
