THE SCIENCE OF SOCIETY FOUNDATION
Statement of Organization and Purpose
The Science of Society Foundation is organized for the purpose of research and investigation of the non-political relationships as developed through history and operating in the society of modern men, under the influence of, yet otherwise than as governmental or political institutions.
It is for the examination, understanding and evaluation of the far-and-wide contractual relationship that maintains a universal cooperation among men under the “Golden Rule” of acting, each unto many others and many others unto each, by inter-service and exchange, free from deceit or duress, and of its promise for the future of mankind in ever richer and finer living and thereby ever-freer, always-growing and ever-lengthening lives.
It shall embrace in its scope the promotion and diffusion of knowledge concerning the three kinds of human action essential to and characteristic of free community-living men: 1. The coercive, as a common defense and security against external or internal violence or equal outrage. 2. The cooperative or contractual, for the salutary distribution, by consent and exchange, of measurable services and the use of tangible properties, products and goods. 3. The consecration of human energy, thus liberated from necessitous toil, to spontaneous interests and activities and the pursuit of spiritual and inspirational ideals.
To these ends it will promote understanding of the present existing system of contractual co-operation and thereby the development of wider and increasingly more profit-yielding fields of services throughout the nations and the world. Its method shall consist in the dissemination of information explaining the basic principles of community organization and of the system of voluntary domestic and international trade and exchange and its potentialities for the future freedom and cultural advancement of mankind.
The Foundation will prepare and publish studies and reports, sponsor lectures and discussions and hold seminars upon many and various phases of the development and growth of a Free Society through elaboration and extension of the freely-assumed, the contractual and non-coercive and thereby profitable and productive engagements and operations that lift and liberate the lives of modern men.
