The Soul is sovereign. It has the power to rule the world. But it takes report of its kingdom only through its chancellors. The names of these are: Sense, Intellect, and Emotion. The first makes report of the material riches, the raw materials of the realm. The second reports how these gifts, by exercise of the creative kingly power, may be transformed to boundless riches; while the third reports the magic joy, the overwhelming loveliness, that may bloom in the Soul’s royal garden of beauty and abundance. But the king must always be on his guard. Let him beware lest his chancellors serve him ill and faithless servitors and sycophants beset his throne.
