Two thousand years agone a Western star drew the gifts of Eastern wisdom to a rugged land and manger shrine. There the Eastern dream of individual oblivion in nirvannic bliss awoke in power and action to build a heavenly world. The Cosmic Power took a new manifestation. The word became flesh. The Holy Spirit conceived and brought forth a new spiritual world of forward experience and of creation by the practice of love under the golden rule of mutual service maintained by exchange.
This new religion of mastery over fate, and of loving by serving, and the creation thereby of a new world, a new heaven on earth through an impersonal and universal communion of spiritual power through service as love, in a few brief centuries and until now has laid the foundations of all the natural sciences in the entire Western World despite the Oriental philosophy of submission to fate with which it was deeply tinged.
It is true that it has practiced rulership over men instead of recreation of the world through universal service and love. Conquest and tyranny it has taught and acclaimed while preaching the duty of submission and subservience to those already subdued. But on the speculative and intuitive side its cardinal doctrine has been the three-fold nature of the Universal Being and Absolute Reality it professed to represent. Unique among religions its mystics and seers have sensed the secrets of creative power in the knowledge of the three-fold nature of the Cosmic Reality.
