Letter to Heath, Roadsend Gardens Elkridge, Maryland, from John S. Codman, 222 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts

March 2, 1953

Dear Mr. Heath:

I want to thank you for your copy of Progress & Poverty and your pamphlet reviewing it. I shall not, however, read your pamphlet. I am not interested at this time in the fallacies of Henry George, if any there are. I am only interested in pushing forward George’s remedy, namely: “To assert the common right to land by taking rent for public uses.”

You will receive from me shortly, a proposal which may be of some interest to you, and hope to have the pleasure of seeing you at the Henry George School Conference which is to be held this year in Boston, in July.

With best wishes, I am

Sincerely yours,

/s/ John S. Codman
