Original letter to Sir Patrick Hastings, London, England, which was returned addressee “Deceased.”
July 6, 1955
Dear Sir:
We have no doubt your attention has been invited many times to the writings of Henry George advocating the expropriation of land-owners by 100-percent land-value taxation. We are strongly assured that until recently there has been no competent examination and exposure of the fallacies inherent in this dialectic for the abolition of private property in land.
Accordingly, we take pleasure in presenting you herewith a recent careful analysis of the Henry George argument by the present writer, including also some constructive comments on the social functioning and potentialities of real estate administration. We trust that this presentation of the converse argument will be acceptable and of possible use to you.
With our best compliments and my professional admiration, I am,
SH/m ENC: “Progress & Poverty Reviewed” “Property in Land Explained . |
Sincerely yours,
