Random taping by Spencer MacCallum from conversation with Heath

To many persons, that which is most painful, or at least most poignant, is most real. This of course is a purely subjective conception of reality. The objective conception is that entertained by Plato in his theory that that alone is real which endures, and that which is most enduring is most real. This of course refers not to the individual organism or event. It refers to the type or form of organization. Yet an enduring type of organization becomes such in consequence of the durational span of its component individuals — and vice versa. This is reflected in the hierarchal Christian Trinity of “Substance, Power and Eternity,” the highest reality being the durational.
