Carbon of Heath’s letter to John Davenport, Editor, Barron’s Financial Weekly, 40 New Street, New York City 4

August 15, 1955

Dear Mr. Davenport:

It may interest you to see a Definitive Exposé of each one of the five basic premises of the Land Communist Argument set out approvingly and very heavily endorsed in the Freeman Magazine for July 27th, 1955. So I am sending you herewith copy of my unpublished letter-to-the-editor of July 26th. /Wrong date?/

Communism is a real and present menace in our midst. It rests on the false that we allow to masquerade as true. It is not necessary, nor is it intelligent, to accept its basic premises. To do so is tantamount to swallowing the whole “line.” What do you think?

Sincerely,

sh-m
