Exchange of letter between Heath and David Lawrence, c/o U.S. News & World Report, Washington, D.C.
September 26, 1954
Dear Mr. Lawrence:
I am a long-time admirer of your most penetrating and illuminating letters, articles and columns on public and political affairs. I think you must have delved deep into historical backgrounds, wherefore I am sending you a leaflet of mine designed to expose the land communist dialectic with regard to private property in land as succinctly set out, with its religious connotations, by the Rev. Dr. McGlynn, and upon which he was reinstated to his priesthood after some years of bitter controversy and excommunication.
I think you will see in his “Doctrinal Statement,” which is annexed to my critique, the fundamental grounds of the widespread propaganda against the non-political ownership and administration of ownership of all kinds.
As regards current affairs, I think my recent letter to the Wall Street Journal, as per clipping enclosed, should be of interest to you.
With many compliments, I remain,
Sincerely yours,

Dear Mr. Heath:
Thank you very much for your letter of the 26th and the complimentary references to my articles. I am grateful to you for sending me the clipping and I shall try to read it at my first opportunity.
Also, I was much interested in the clipping you had in the Wall Street Journal, which is very good.
With best wishes, I am,
Sincerely yours,
(signed) David Lawrence
