Funds Sought for Traveling Chair
To Teach Its Principles
A permanent traveling professorship to teach the economic principles of Henry George in the leading colleges and universities of the United States will be established as soon as an endowment fund is raised by the Manhattan Single-Tax Club, it was announced at a meeting of the club last night at the Actors’ Dinner Club, 165 W. 45th Street.
Walter Fairchild, attorney, who was elected to succeed the late James R. Brown as president of the club, said a prominent professor of economics would be sought to occupy the chair.
Mrs. Anna George DeMille, daughter of Henry George, also addressed the meeting. Spencer Heath, a member of the club, told of the single-tax movement in England, and O. K. Dorn, club treasurer, gave the annual financial report.
